Canadian Abstract Painter

CHRISTOPHER CUTTS GALLERY
REFLECTION BY CYNTHIA CHAPMAN
It is a rare and exciting moment in an artist’s life when a new chapter begins, and for me, that chapter has opened with Christopher Cutts Gallery. After years of exploring and refining my work, I am thrilled to present BURST, my inaugural solo exhibition with the gallery. This show represents not just a body of work, but a journey, a year of deep exploration, experimentation, and commitment to the medium I love.
Over the years, my work has been embraced by collectors across Canada, and I am grateful for the support that has allowed my paintings to find homes in so many personal and meaningful collections. BURST brings together a series of pieces that reflect both continuity and growth in my practice. Each canvas embodies a dialogue with colour, texture, and form, and I hope it will resonate with anyone who has a love for art and the quiet power of painting.
Working with Christopher Cutts Gallery is an affirmation of the path I have chosen, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a gallery that shares my commitment to Canadian art. This exhibition is not only a milestone in my career, but also an invitation: to collectors, admirers, and fellow artists, to witness and participate in the unfolding of my work. I am deeply excited for what comes next and proud to share this moment with those who have supported me along the way.
